About Us

London Basketball Club is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to affordable youth athletics and basketball training. Our Ontario Corporation number is 5027197.

Founded in January 2020, London Basketball Club was established to provide a community organization that follows the Long Term Athletic Development pathway established by Canada Basketball. 

Coach Peter Chapman is a high school teacher and has coached club basketball for 10 years. Peter has coached 4 teams in the OBA to Division 1 and ranked as high as 2nd in Ontario. He has also coached the Westminster Senior girls to 2 TVRAA championships, a WOSSA silver medal, a WOSAA championship, and a second seed at OFSAA. Peter was the OBA trainer of the year in 2018 and assistant coach at Algoma University. He has worked with over 20 athletes who have gone on to play post-secondary basketball. 

Coach Darren Tranberg is an elementary teacher and coach with L2T/T2T/T2C certification. He has over twenty-five years of coaching experience winning several regional and Thames Valley championships at the elementary level. He has coached many OBA teams from U12 all the way up to U19 that have medalled in Division 1 and 2, including finishing third in the province in 2022.

Coach Alyssa Da Silva is a Human Kinetics student at the University of Guelph and played basketball for 8 years beginning with the London Ramblers and finishing with Gold Medal. On her Gold Medal team in April 2022, Alyssa's U19 girls team placed Top 3 in the province in Division 1. Alyssa was a finalist and won WOSSAA in her high school basketball career at CCH. She also received the female S.P.E.C.T.R.A award for the Thames Valley region in 2022. She continues to stay active in the world of sports as the student trainer for the University of Guelph women’s rugby team, where he supports the athletes with injury prevention, recovery, and on-field care.

Coach Rebecca Wylie is a local Londoner who went to Westminster SS, where she won 2 TVRAA championships, a WOSSA silver medal and a WOSSA gold medal and received the Phil McNamee scholarship for athletics and academics from the TVDSB. Rebecca played 4 years for the Algoma Thunderbirds of the OUA where she was an Academic All-Canadian and won the most improved player award in 2018-2019. Since returning to London to get her nursing degree at Western University, Rebecca has been assistant coach of the U19 Gold Medal girls team.

In April 2022, Peter, Darren, and Rebecca's U19 girls team placed Top 3 in the province in Division 1.

Dave Hoff is a teacher and coach with almost 20 years experience coaching basketball. Dave has L2T/T2T certification through Canada Basketball and has helped to coach club teams in provincial leagues in divisions ranging from U11 to U16.
